The reference bottle for this Baker Whiskey comes from a private collection. Brothers John and Edward Mahoney emigrated from Ireland to the United States in the mid-1800s. They settled in Portsmouth, VA, where they distilled whiskey under various labels. As Virginia's prohibition firmly took hold in 1916, they relocated their operations to Maryland. However, with the advent of the National Prohibition Law (Volstead Act) in 1920, they ceased operations altogether.
